Hello!
When you cook Okonomiyaki, what ingredient do you use?
I like Okonomiyaki with simmered Konjac (Konnyaku).
It’s tasty, chewy, and makes you satisfied.
The other day I did the simmered konjac and my husband cooked Okonomiyaki with it.
I’d like to show you how to cook simmered konjac in this article!
Simmered konjac (konnyaku) for Okonomiyaki
You can eat this simmered konjac without Okonomiyaki.
But I love putting it into Okonomiyaki.
A lot of Okonomiyaki stores in Osaka use Konjac, too.
(I’m not from Osaka, though)
I sometimes want to eat Okonomiyaki with Konjac.
By the way, we call Konjac “Konnyaku” in Japan.
Ingredients for simmered Konjac
Konjac (Konnyaku) 1
Water 100cc
Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
Mirin 2 tablespoons
Mentsuyu 1 tablespoon
Recipe for simmered Konjac
Dice Konjac and boil it for 1-2 minutes.
.
.
Throw the hot water and add water, soy sauce, Mirin, Mentsuyu, and start boiling.
.
.
When the liquid disappears, it’s done!
We call it “Amakara Konnyaku”.
This is already tasty.
But we put this into Okonomiyaki
Making Okonomiyaki with simmered Konjac
Now my husband cooks Okonomiyaki with the simmered Konjac.
He is good at making Okonomiyaki!
Let’s see how he does.
This time he put cabbage, mushroom, and flour.
.
.
And then simmered the Konjac and began to stir it.
.
.
Spread it inside a frying pan and cook it well.
.
.
Now put Okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise and Katsuobushi.
.
.
Done!
Okonomiyaki with simmered Konjac is amazing!
I really love the chewy texture of Konjac.
If you have a Konjac in your fridge, I’d love you to try this Okonomiyaki.
Konjac is made of potatoes and is very healthy.
(It can clean your stomach)
It’s my recommendation!
