In that show, Nezuko Kamado was wearing Asanoha patterned kimono.
Asanoha pattern is one of Japanese traditional patterns and highly used for Sashiko.
It might look difficult to draw Asanoha pattern, but there is an easy way.
This time, I’d like to share how to draw Asanoha pattern.
What’s Asanoha pattern?
Asanoha is a Japanese traditional pattern.
This hexagon expresses hemp leaves.
Since Heian era, this pattern was used for Buddhism decoration in Japan.
Asanoha pattern is also known as the pattern of Nezuko’s kimono from the anime “Demon slayer”.

Pink colored Asanoha pattern is so cute!
In Japan, Asanoha pattern is used for baby’s clothes due to quick growth of the plant hemp.
This pattern has a meaning of talisman as well.
So people buy Asanoha patterned swaddling clothes for their baby to protect from negative vibes.
I used to have some Asanoha patterned kimono and clothes when I was a baby, too.
Asanoha patterned swaddling clothe is popular as a gift, too.
How to draw Asanoha pattern
Now, I will show you how to draw Asanoha pattern!
There are some different ways of drawing this pattern.
But I usually draw this way.

How to draw Asanoha pattern
1. First, draw some lines horizontally. And draw triangles in the horizontal lines.
がんばろう！
2. Stretch the triangle lines and make more triangles.
3. Draw rhombus in the triangle and upside down triangle.
It’s getting complicated.
But don’t give up! You are almost there!
４．Draw vertical lines above and below of rhombus. Done!
If you make a lot of Asanoha pattern, it would look like this.

This is the “Asanoha patterned Fukin” I did.
First, I drew Asanoha pattern with tailor’s chalk as draft.
I used a tailor’s chalk which will fade away with water or time.
So even if you make mistake, you can fix it again.
