Don’t eat Warabi without removing lye

Even if you get a lot of Warabi, you should not eat it without removing lye first.

If you do it at night, you can cook Warabi the next morning!

What you need to remove lye from Warabi


Warabi 100g
Baking soda 1 teaspoon
Hot water

How to remove lye from Warabi with baking soda

Boil water

Put baking soda on warabi

Pour hot water into the pan.

Cover the Warabi with hot water.

To remove the lye evenly, please put a plate on top of the Warabi and leave it for 8 hours.

After 8 hours, please change the water a few times until the water is clear

Leave the Warabi inside the clean water for 30 minutes.

Now, the lye is removed well!

After you remove the lye, enjoy Warabi!
