Warabi Takikomi Gohan without a rice cooker

I cooked this Takikomi Gohan without a rice cooker.
I only used an ordinary pot.

So even if you don’t have a rice cooker, don’t worry.

You can use this Warabi Takikomi Gohan with no problem!

Ingredients for Warabi Takikomi Gohan

Rice…450g
Warabi…100g
Carrot…70g
Daikon…70g
Mushroom…80g
Aburaage…as much as you like

Water…470ml
Soy sauce…2 tablespoon
Sake…2 tablespoon
Mentsuyu…2 tablespoon

Recipe for Warabi Takikomi Gohan

Wash the rice.

Cut the ingredients in 3 cm or 4 cm width.

Put water and carrot and daikon into a pot and heat it.

When it’s boiling, add the seasonings.

Add aburaage and mushroom and warabi.

Boil for a few minutes and turn off the gas.

Remove the vegetables from the pot.

Put rice into the pot and start cooking.

When you cook rice, please close the lid.

When the rice absorbs most of the liquid, put the vegetables back in the pot.
Cook it for 2 or 3 minutes and turn off the gas and leave it for 5 – 10 minutes.

Done!

Mix it gently and serve.
